ALLMAN, George Frederick Matthew - (Retired TPT & Cathcart Truck Driver ) Suddenly at his home Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in his 79th year. Loving father to Carrie Foster , Robert Allman and Jennifer Allman-MacInnes (Garry). Loving grandpa and poppa to Ashley (Ryan), Craig, Kevin (Chantelle), Tyler, Benjamin, Riley (Carolyn), Macy, Elliott, Kaden and Isaiah. Great grandpa to Idunn. Beloved oldest brother to 14 brothers and sisters. George was born on June 15, 1937 in Warkworth, ON. He grew up on a farm near Norwood which he talked of often. He was a proud strong man who raised his family in Peterborough, loved his home and his family. He fought long and hard with his disease with patience, rarely a complaint and always a smile. He was a proud south ender who made daily treks to the mall and all over the south end. Nothing could keep him down, not even the weather. He was a fighter until the end. George will be sadly missed by his amazing friend Val, his mall cronies and all those special people who helped him stay in his home (Sharon, Cathy, Carolyn & Art). Special thanks to his main CCAC nurse Audra for all you have done. Friends are invited to call at the NISBETT FUNERAL HOME, 600 Monaghan Road S., on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1.00pm-3.00pm. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the NISBETT CHAPEL on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 3.00pm. Reverend Lyle Horn officiating. For those that wish to commemorate George through donations please consider the Canadian Cancer Society. Miss me but let me go…
