Former Resident of Marathon, and Springville. Graduate of University of Toronto in Forestry.
Passed away peacefully on Sunday October 12, 2014 at Southlake Hospital, Newmarket, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Hastings). Devoted father of Eileen Powell (David) of Newmarket, Kathy Mogk (Bill) of Thunder Bay, and Elizabeth Hamilton (Garth) of Marathon. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Chris (Shannon), Jonathon, Keith, Jennifer (Ronnie), Sarah (Brian), and Amanda (Adam). Dear brother of Murray Powell (Marie) and the late Mary (Ken Choate), and Muriel (Ken Gordon). He will be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A memorial service will take place at NISBETT FUNERAL HOME, 600 Monaghan Rd. (705-745-3211) on Saturday October 18 at 2 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to service time.
